Note: there is no "series" of communications. Basically, there are simply
5 different versions of this one document. This version has been altered
by hand. The negative photostat possessed by the Peace Palace at the Hague
reads "Fensterlä". In this version the "ä" has been altered to
"e umlaut", which does not exist in German, but presumably still means
"window" ("le" being a dialectical diminutive). The correct translation
should probably be Fensterläden", "shutters". The letters "den" have
