Use of "Ausrottung" by Gregor Strasser on June 14, 1932


“Wir wollen die Ausrotten der organisierten Volks- und Wirtschaftsfeindlichen Spekulation, der das Volk aussaugt und um sein Recht auf Arbeit, Auskommen und Sicherung seines Existenz betrügt.“

Translation: "We want the extirpation of organized speculation, which is destructive to the people and the economy, which sucks the blood of the people and cheats them out of their right to work, subsistence, and existence."

Note: in contemporary German, "ausrotten" and "Ausrottung" are fairly unusual words. The National Socialists appear to have been addicted to the use of these violent-sounding words, which they applied to just about everything: laziness, speculation, etc. etc.
A very similar sort of word in French is "supprimer", which can also mean "to kill".
Nobody sees a sign that says "Supprimez la Mort Routière" [Help Stamp Out Death on the Roads] and thinks they're going to kill all the bad drivers. There'd be nobody left...
One of my favourite jokes in French is a sign you occasionally see in bars: "Supprimez la Mort Routière, Conduisez sur le Trottoir", or "Help Stamp Out Death on the Roads, Drive on the Sidewalk".
Nobody takes that literally, either.
